ArcExplorer 4.0.1--Java Edition Now Available
Free Data Viewer Supported on Macintosh
Redlands, California--ESRI, the world leader in geographic
information system (GIS) technology, today announced the availability
of ArcExplorer
4.0.1--Java Edition. The latest version of ESRI's free data viewer
is supported on Macintosh and SGI-IRIX operating systems, in addition
to continued support on Windows, Solaris, Linux, HP-UX, and AIX. It can
be downloaded from
www.esri.com/arcexplorer.
ArcExplorer is a lightweight GIS data viewer that
offers an easy way to perform basic GIS functions. ArcExplorer is
used for a variety of display, query, and data retrieval applications
and supports a wide variety of standard data sources. It can be
used with local data sets or as a client to Internet data and map
servers such as those freely available off of ESRI's Geography Network
at www.geographynetwork.com.
